It's Fishy. Very Fishy.

This was a short project me and my friend (Naninda) decided to do within two hours as a parody on the TV series 'My Strange Addiction'.

It talks about my surreal art style using synthesis to join human body parts and animals (mostly fish) and creating a really hilariously gross character.

My Strange Addiction

Rachel: My name is Rachel and I'm 17 years old and I live in Singapore and I'm addicted to drawing human-ish Fish.
(pause)

Rachel: I've been addicted to drawing human-like fishes since 2015. It was during art O Levels, but (small laughs), believe it or not, it didn't start with fishes.

(pause)

Rachel: It started with slugs. I hate molluscs and the art theme was insects and molluscs that year so that was what I did. I drew my fear and halfway through, the stress and coffee got to my head and I drew my face in the slugs.
Rachel: Then after that it begin to concentrate more on fishes. Maybe it was because I was a pisces, maybe it was because I was a mermaid.
Naninda: Her addiction worries me... Sometimes... it even scares me.
Narrator: Naninda had to take a break during the interview because she was triggered by the creepy drawings Rachel kept showing her.

Naninda: She draw one called "Little Billy Wonders". It is the stuff of nightmares; it haunts me at night.
Narrator: Rachel has agreed to meet with a therapist to help with her addiction.

(pause)

Narrator: Dr Maddison Medicine is a professional angler and therapist here to help Rachel overcome her addiction. Dr Maddison Medicine has a PhD and the D stands for doritos.
Rachel: Hi!

Dr Maddison: Hi Rachel. (pause as he looks through Rachel's files) Take a seat.
Dr Maddison: I know that it is hard but you have to get rid of this addiction or you will die.
Rachel: Okay.
Rachel: After meeting Dr Maddison Medicine, I feel like I have to change. I don't want to die. I never thought drawing human-ish fish would be the death of me. Who would have known, right?
Rachel: But I feel kinda scared. (Rachel trembles) I just- I just can't imagine living without drawing human-ish fish people, you know. It is like my air, except, well, water...
