Our King. Our King. Our King. Our King.

Something that goes against the rules of society in my opinion is the popular series on Youtube "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared", which recently might have came to its end.
The series makes use of puppets and colourful props which make the viewer's initial reaction to think of Muppets or Sesame Street. However, the makers of the series instead put in a lot of gore in each of its episode and dark themes.

Usually, one wouldn't put colourful puppets and blood together, but the makers broke the rule and made each episode eerie and disturbing. They put in many subtle hints that gets the viewers thinking about what they might be suggesting or what is going on in the world these puppets live in.

For example, the calender constantly appears with the date 19 June, the huge computer in the last episode and the yellow guy's father.
The topics they talk about in each episode also relates to many things in our world and is a criticism on the rules of society. Like how love was shown to be a cult. Another example is about how internet was meant for us to learn and connect more, but is instead used for rather mindless things.

And in the last minutes of the final episode, all the puppets are seen in their favourite colours they stated in the first episode, even the puppet which was told "Green is not a creative colour". The video tells us we are not limited to what society expects from us and to truly be creative, we must break the rules and do as we believe. (and be green)
