Partially Deceased, A Show You Must See

My second favourite live-action TV series as of now is In The Flesh. The plot of the story itself is already so unique. It is in a world where zombies exist and are given medication to have their conscious back so they can join back society, being told they are Partially Deceased Syndrome (PDS) suffers and to pretend like they never died or killed anyone when they were rapid before treatment.

The zombies are all required to wear makeup and pretend to be normal while live humans treat them terribly for being different. It relates to real-life issues between people with different races or beliefs and shows us how unfair the world can be some times. The characters are all forced by the rules of society to believe they are lower and less important then living humans because they are different. It also tells us that we have to accept ourselves for who we are.

The show breaks the rules in a zombie film. Usually, it is about zombies running around and people trying to survive but instead, the show suggest a universe where the zombies are allowed to return to their life before dying. The PDS is even treated by the people in their universe as mental health, in a way where people talk about it like it is not a real illness and ignoring it.

It also isn't afraid to talk about how nobody is perfect and can be exactly as the world expects them to be. They have characters that are gay, prostitutes or hire prostitutes, take drugs and a zombie dating a human. Nonetheless, the character all still struggle trying to fit in even when they accept who they truly are.

I love this show with a passion.

Our King. Our King. Our King. Our King.

Something that goes against the rules of society in my opinion is the popular series on Youtube "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared", which recently might have came to its end.
The series makes use of puppets and colourful props which make the viewer's initial reaction to think of Muppets or Sesame Street. However, the makers of the series instead put in a lot of gore in each of its episode and dark themes.

Usually, one wouldn't put colourful puppets and blood together, but the makers broke the rule and made each episode eerie and disturbing. They put in many subtle hints that gets the viewers thinking about what they might be suggesting or what is going on in the world these puppets live in.

For example, the calender constantly appears with the date 19 June, the huge computer in the last episode and the yellow guy's father.
The topics they talk about in each episode also relates to many things in our world and is a criticism on the rules of society. Like how love was shown to be a cult. Another example is about how internet was meant for us to learn and connect more, but is instead used for rather mindless things.

And in the last minutes of the final episode, all the puppets are seen in their favourite colours they stated in the first episode, even the puppet which was told "Green is not a creative colour". The video tells us we are not limited to what society expects from us and to truly be creative, we must break the rules and do as we believe. (and be green)

Mood is Food and Food is Good

Cooking is fun, especially if you make something successful.
This was grilled cheese I made a few weeks back that looks like something someone threw out of the window. It tasted good but...

But after trying again, I actually made this heavenly thing and it tastes good. And it is crispy and now I know I can make grilled cheese.

Gaming is Fun, I Can't Think of a Pun

Gaming is a great way to express myself as it serves as a platform for possibilities and learning while having endless fun.

In Animal Crossing New Leaf, we get to experiment with our own little world and decide what we wish to do ourselves, without any sort of guideline or story plot for us to follow. The colourful animals are also a nice palette to explore with.
On the other hand, Tomodachi Life is a (sinister) game where you control the lives of unsuspecting characters. The game is fun creating characters and dressing them up, then letting fate play itself out.
The final game is Fire Emblem, a RPG game which is fun because of the variety of characters, the strategising and thinking and most of all, the conversations that occurs between characters. The art style really appeals to me and the several of the characters are really likeable.

Tim Brown Turns My Frown Upside Down

In the video, Tim Brown talks about how we shouldn't put aside our ideas that seem too bizarre for society to accept. Instead, we should push them forward as that makes our ideas stand out from the crowd and create its own personality. However, as we grow, creativity in a way is taken away from our environment

Moving on, he talks about how one simple idea can lead to and inspire another idea. Any idea that starts out small can evolve into something bigger as long as we take the first step to actually make the initial idea happen. We could find joy in what we do and want to progress it further because we think of it as something we enjoy doing and this ultimately leads to success.

The video talks about learning as we play and doing something over and over again because it is fun, but this in turns helps us try again and again until we come up with a final product. We should also experiment with different materials and ideas; to step out of our comfort zone. It is the simple-looking prototypes that seem like nothing that eventually comes together to form a fascinating end result.

Ultimately, he talks about not throwing away our ideas and how playfulness is not being immature and can lead to bigger creations and outcomes.

Gravity Falls I Need Some More

I finally watched the last episode of Gravity Falls and I feel so emotional.
Gravity Falls is such a good show because they had very relatable characters and they left so many mysteries which makes it fun to think up theories about. It is creative in a way where there is no concrete answers to their mysteries.

The show use mystery and comedy to involve the viewers. Its joke are sarcastic and so good on its own, and then it hits you with a supernatural mystery or a secret code and sends chills down your back. It isn't scary, just really creepy because there is so much secrets that even when the show ended, it felt like there were still a lot of unanswered questions left out there.

Their art style is also really simple and I like it.
